Barney Muldoon is a New York City detective partnered with Saul Goodman. Together they are tasked with the investigation of the bombing of Confrontation magazine and the disappearance of its editor Joseph Malik. When they discover the magazine's investigation of the John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King assassinations, they find a string of mysterious memos suggesting the involvement of a powerful secret society, the Illuminati.
